The Coptic Scholarships for Egypt

A partnership between the National Coptic Charity and various international benefactors.

There are fifty Scholarships available each year in Egypt.

The first Egyptian Coptic Scholars took up residence at their university in 2017, and since that time over a hundred Egyptians have been awarded the Scholarship.

The Scholarships in Egypt are administered by a regional selection committee covering the following dioceses:

  • Diocese of Alexandria;

  • Diocese of Beheira, Damietta, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Monufia, Qalyubia, and Sharquia;

  • Diocese of Coptic Cairo;

  • Diocese of Cairo and Giza; 

  • Diocese of Fayyum;

  • Diocese of South Sinai;

  • Diocese of Minya and Al-Ashmunein;

  • Diocese of Asyut;

  • Diocese of Sohag;

  • Diocese of Qena; and

  • Diocese of Luxor.

To apply to the Coptic Scholarships for Egypt, a student must first earn the endorsement of their church in the diocese in which they reside. You can find more information about this in the Information for Candidates for Egypt (English), or Information for Candidates for Egypt (Arabic)

As the Coptic Scholarships are place-based, the eligibility criteria, application requirements, and selection process vary slightly depending on which constituency you are applying for.
